"be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart; try to love the questions themselves... do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given. because you would not be able to live them. and the point is to live everything. live the questions now. perhaps you will then gradually without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answers."

"time is just something that we assign. you know, past, present, it's just all arbitrary. most native americans, they don't think of time as linear; in time, out of time, I never have enough time, circular time... all moments are happening all the time."

"...If you want a friend, tame me. . ."
"What must I do, to tame you?
asked the little prince.
"You must be very patient," replied the fox.
"First you will sit down
at a little distance from me
-like that-in the grass.
I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye,
and you will say nothing.
Words are the source of misunderstandings.
But you will sit a little closer to me,
every day..."

"let us keep this truth before us.
you say you have no faith?
love - and faith will come.
you say you are sad?
love - and joy will come.
you say you are alone?
love - and you will break out of your solitude."

"she was loved by so many on this campus and involved in so many facets of the life of this campus that she touched, touched us all. and now she’s been taken from us suddenly in a terrible, terrible act of violence. none of us understands why these kinds of events occur. we simply can’t fathom this kind of violent act that’s so foreign to our culture and our community. and now it is our struggle to come to grips with the reality of this event. and so we must go through a period of grieving and accepting this reality." -- chancellor moeser's remarks: polk place gathering for more info click here

I just want to thank you so much. This is such a big deal, not only for us, but for all other independent musicians and artists that spend most of their time struggling, and this, the fact that we're standing here tonight, the fact that we're able to hold this, it's just to prove no matter how far out your dreams are, it's possible. And, you know, fair play to those who dare to dream and don't give up. And this song was written from a perspective of hope, and hope at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are. And so thank you so much, who helped us along way. Thank you." Marketa Irglova- Academy Award winner in her acceptance speech- for best original song from the movie, Once, "Falling Slowly"
