got the Cover Shot on the Chapel Hill Magazine! It's really neat to go by a news stand, glance over, see the pic, and take a double take! and think, "hey! That's my shot!!"

In memory of Jerry Holland. I just heard that Jerry Holland, a great Cape Breton fiddler, passed away July 16, 2009. I had the pleasure of hearing Jerry play at a retreat in NC several years ago. I took this picture of him (center stage) playing on July 17, 2006-- exactly 3 years before died. How poignant. Jerry was both a composer and steward of traditional Celtic/Scottish tunes. He was a warm and humble man and a dynamic performer. Here is a link to his music- I encourage you to have a listen..

attended a candlelight vigil for elias sorokin, a remarkable young man from our community who has been missing since monday, july 20: he was expected in LA tuesday morning. please hold elias in your heart for his safe return.
