Laura Shmania  > Barns, Farms, Cabins, Old Stuff > Blackwood Farmstead
This is dedicated to Julia Blackwood, who lived on the farm with her husband, Eugene, for decades and Alice Gordon, leader in the Lands Legacy Program for Orange County. In a win-win negotiation, 64 acres of the Blackwood family farmland have been purchased by the county and put in reserve for playing fields and hiking trails.

Julia has now moved to a smaller home that she calls her "dollhouse" and will celebrate her 86th birthday at the end of December, 2006.
